Best Morning Rituals for Success-Mornings are important. They have become the time when I think, dream, and set up my day. I want to share with you my Best Morning Rituals for Success with a recipe for a morning Apple Cider Elixir. If you follow these rituals you will find that your days are better, go more smoothly, and are more organized.
Let’s Create the Time for Ourselves
Many people tell me that they can’t find extra time in the morning to do things for themselves. But you can probably find an extra ten minutes, right? We are going to figure out a morning ritual that will fit into your busy, packed to the max schedule. Doing these morning rituals will leave you feeling relaxed, together and excited about the day ahead.
Seven Hours Minimum Sleep
The best days begun with a great night’s sleep. Although everyone is different, most people need a minimum of seven hours of uninterrupted, dark room sleep. In the month’s ahead we are going to talk about ways to experience successful sleep.
First thing I always try to fit into my day upon waking is my morning meditation. I do this practice before I check messages, eat or drink anything, or talk to anybody. Morning Meditation can be as short as one minute or as long as an hour, depending on timing and needs.
Below is a One Minute Meditation which I have created for anyone who wants to try meditation. Meditation is a fantastic tool to have in your toolbox. It just takes practice, everyone can do it!
One Minute Meditation
I practice this one minute meditation on days when I am short on time. It always makes my day always go better.
To start- find yourself a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed and sit comfortably. Use pillows to prop yourself up. The goal is to sit still. Take three deep, relaxing breaths, and try to completely relax your body. Below is a list that I use to construct my meditation. Use them all or focus on any one item. You decide.
- Be grateful– For family, friends, pets, your healthy body, the things that work for you. If you are in a sad place (and we all are sometimes!) just say “I am grateful for the world around me”.
- Construct your day– I like to run through the day as if I am watching a speeded up movie. Imagine that everything you do and every interaction you have will go smoothly. If there is anyone or anything that you are nervous about, see the situation and image yourself at the end of the day smiling and remembering how well that all went.
- Dream the Future– Create and imagine future goals in morning meditation. This can include connecting with loved ones, buying land, finishing a project or writing a book. Don’t be cheap with your goals and dreams! If you want to see yourself as the star of the New York City Ballet, go for it!
Having a morning meditation practice is like creating an extra room in your house, the Virgina Woolf “Room of one’s own”, to do with as you wish. It is your place to work on anything you want to and to determine your future.
Start the day right
First drink of the day is Apple Cider Elixir (recipe below) featuring raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar, filtered water and lime. Apple Cider Elixir clears my throat, support my organs, and gives my body important helpful bacteria that I need for good health all day long.
Even if you only have five extra minutes in your morning try to fit in some movement. Do some stretches, tai chi, a bit of yoga, or even just lay on the ground to stretch out your spine. Any of these can help set a positive tone for your day.
Make a List
Make a list of your goals for the day. Even if your list is water the tomatoes and clean the bathroom. Lists are a great way to feel organized in your mind at the start of your day.
Breakfast like a King
I need tremendous energy in my day and so I always eat a huge breakfast. Begin with a power shake such as Chocolate Green Smoothie, oatmeal, or Quick Skillet Granola with coconut yogurt, or maybe a plate of fresh papaya and lime. Make whatever you like to eat. It should be a whole food that supports your energy for the day. For ideas on whole foods visit our Diabetic Protocols page.
Before I take my morning shower I brush my dry skin with a dry natural bristle brush. Remember that your skin is your biggest organ. Dry skin brushing serves to eliminate toxins and support your body.
Give your skin some space
After my shower I try to spend five minutes without clothes to air out my skin. You can take that time to check your body for changes, look for areas that need to work, or just take time to appreciate the body that you live inside.
Get on with your fantastic day
The next part is take all of this great feeling, focused and energizing Best Morning Rituals for Success and enjoy a wonderful, relaxing day.

Morning Rituals for Success-Apple Cider Elyxir
The beginning of every successful day starts with my Apple Cider Elyxir. This is an easy to make, morning drink that contains helpful bacteria and enzymes. The lime has alkalising and anti microbial properties. Together they help you maintain a healthy body in the day ahead.
- Prep Time: 1 minute
- Total Time: 1 minute
- Yield: 8 oz
- Category: Beverage
- Method: Mixing
- Cuisine: Breakfast
1/2 lime squeezed
8 oz. filtered water
Fill a glass with 8 oz of the water. Pour in apple cider vinegar, and the lime juice. Enjoy!
Use room temperature water. If it is cold heat it up so it is warm. This helps the body, as when water is cold the body has to first heat it up before it uses any nutrients. As we want to focus on cleaning and clearing toxins we want to make it easier for our body.
For my recipe I use Braggs raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. You can substitute any raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. If you make your own send some over!
