“The secret of getting ahead is getting started” Mark Twain
“Pond Road” was photographed in Bovina, N.Y.. Although some people have a problem with starting new stuff, I never do. What is difficult for me is to keep up the pace and staying centred. Now that I have a child (it has been a decade!), all that hanging out reading the newspaper time has evaporated. Time in general seems faster, but time with my daughter seems slower, more magnified. “Look at this flower, Mommy”. If you can try to hold on to that gorgeous stuff, whoever is bringing it into your life, do so.
Try to start something today that you have been putting off. Even just ten minutes can make a difference.
I do find it hard to start new stuff. I get home from work and immediately start to make dinner and check that everyone has done homework and practicing, check that the latest paperwork from school and after school has been signed/paid/etc, check if any bills are due, ugh-laundry! I’m exhausted before I manage to get started on anything new. It’s tough. Ten minutes, you say … I’ll go get started. Thanks for the inspiration!
I know! Sometimes I don’t sit down until dinner is done and I am at the table. I try to have micro projects. Even spending 5 minutes on something feels like an accomplishment.
