“The right time is any time that one is still so lucky as to have” Henry James
Thanksgiving Day presents us with an opportunity. Although it can be about delicious sweet potato pudding, crispy brussel sprouts and pecan pie, there is more to it. Thanksgiving is a venue for possibilities. It may be the right time for a few things on your list.
We enjoy Thanksgiving because of the celebration-making your yummy meal, being with family and friends that you don’t always see. You may have unfinished business, or need to see where things stand. It is a time to update yourself on progress- for children how much bigger they got, for relatives how are they looking and feeling.
Time changes us- our faces, our bodies, our politics, our surroundings. As much as we would like to, we can’t get the time back. We need to grab every opportunity that we are given, and enjoy it for all it is worth. Thankgiving accomplishments include enjoying your people, being kind to each other, checking in and, of course, being grateful.
