I saw her speak once in college at Mount Holyoke. Maya was tall, and dressed colourfully. She was not haughty, but definitely proud. If I met her in the street in N.Y.C. I think that she would be kind, and would probably say something funny.
Maya Angelou was the best public speaker that I have ever seen. Her voice was mesmerizing: singing, shouting, communicating. I was electrified, and did not move a muscle throughout her entire time on the stage. I was happy though. That day she gave me a small piece of her self take take home in my pocket.” Still I rise” holds up over time and is still asdellish as the first day that I read it.
